But I'D Buy it!!!!
Okay, I'm trying not to panic here, but no one is coming to see our house. It's in near mint condition, built in 1941, and it's very tastefully decorated, if I do say so myself. I tend to buy all things Pottery Barn, so it's not like I have ceramic cheetahs flanking my fireplace or anything. Anymore.
We have a side porch, an updated kitchen, a great yard, and the house is huge compared to others in the neighborhood. And I dare you to find another four bedroom house within a four block radius. Okay, well, my friend across the street has four bedrooms, but her house isn't for sale, so it doesn't count. We live on a tree-lined street and we can walk to the library and the playground. The schools are some of the best in the state. Yet we've only had eight people go through here, and seven were from the open house. One was a realtor. Another couple scheduled a walk-through, then cancelled. We're only priced three grand over our break-even point.
So what gives????? Is it normal to have such slow traffic the first week on the market?
Anyone need a house? Please??????????

Hang in there June, it's only been a week. I'm pretty sure you'll start to see some activity soon.
And I hope your son gets "moving" soon!
Yeah, no, I can't keep up with the house I have.
I've heard that the first week is pretty slow...just hang in there. Plus, people tend not to buy before Spring. I don't know what it is...perhaps the cold (I know it hasn't been terribly cold around the US lately, but you know what I mean) weather makes people feel like curling up in their beds instead of buying houses.
Chelle--
No worries! I'm not at the point of being scared, and I figured there was probably something else besides constipation going on with your nephew. No offense taken!
And Candace--- why would you want to move, when your house came with treasures in the ceiling tiles???? God only knows what's buried in the yard.
Mama T--- thanks!
For what it's worth ... Mother's house went on the market and sat there. And, it too is a fantastic, great house, great street, great condition, loads of space for a family, etc. etc. And, it just sold. To a family, the "daddy" of which I used to babysit for when I was a teenager. So, karma happens in houses, too. The right family just hasn't seen it yet. Patience. House karma is amazing.
I think that's pretty normal for the first week - give it a few weeks...the word will get around. Sounds like a great house. Hang in there...
We're selling our house too. We have put a lot of money into it and it looks much better than it did when we bought it, but no offers. It is the slow season for house selling. It should get better, very soon.
You know I would buy your house if we were moving to your town. First of all your neck of the woods has crappy weather right now. Your Realtor shoudl do a few more open houses pronto, especially since Spring is this week. Hang in there!
BTW--Do the agents where you are do an Agent Openhouse? When we put our house on the market in NJ, we put it up on Tuesday,Wednesday afternoon was the Agent Openhouse from Noon-2 and then we had a "for real openhouse" on Sunday, even though we were accepting an offer that was made on Thursday. But as you know, Central NJ is NOT a normal real estate market.
I don't know exactly where you are located, but we just put in an offer on a house in Iowa. We are relocating there from upstate NY. Just hang in there, the right family will show up soon, I am sure of it.
Debby,
We're in Upstate NY, too---- any wonder as to why we're getting out????
We had another couple look today, but no word as to how it went, etc.

Someone will buy your lovely house, I'm sure of it.....it can take MONTHS here to sell a house..
